Crystal
View™ Debuts Sound-Art,
A Plasma Display Loudspeaker Solution Featuring
Snell Acoustics Technology
Provides Stylish Plasma Display Audio Solution
That Eliminates The Need For Separate Front
Loudspeakers
LAS VEGAS, NV, JANUARY 8, 2004 - Crystal
View has introduced Sound-Art,
a custom bezel that transforms their CVP-43
and CVP-50 plasma displays into
complete audio-video solutions that will
satisfy home theater enthusiasts and interior
designers alike.
Serving as an attractive extended bezel,
Sound-Art
integrates a high-end loudspeaker system
that provides the custom installer with
a unique audio-video plasma display package
that previously has never before been available
from one manufacturer.
The Crystal View CVP-43 HD and CVP-50HD
plasma displays are both available with
the Sound-Art
solution for suggested retail price of $12,995
and $16,995 respectively. A clear-coated,
black gloss finish is standard, however
a wide range of custom colors and finishes,
including a selection of real wood veneers,
are also available.
Sound-Art
is the result of collaboration between Crystal
View and Snell Acoustics and features a
no-compromise, 2-way loudspeaker design.
Each side of Sound-Art integrates two 5.25-inch
woofers and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter,
arranged in a D’Appolito Array, named
for Snell’s chief engineer. The result
is full range performance from 70Hz to 20kHz
at levels up to 103dB, using amplifiers
from 25 to 150 watts.
Sound-Art’s
frame matches the 3- 7/8ths depth of the
Crystal View plasma display panels. The
frame is machined from a solid block of
furniture grade,
MDF wood. The speaker enclosures use Snell’s
Quiet Box technology, where inner and outer
cabinet layers sandwich a damping layer
of Noise Killer™,
for a high level of structural integrity
and smooth bass response, even at loud volumes.
Crystal View, which unveiled Sound-Art
during their December 2003 New England dealer-training
event, reported extremely positive feedback
from both sale reps and dealers. John Brusa,
of ImageTech Home Theater Systems in Framingham
MA says, “Sound-Art better enables
us to sell a client on transforming a small
room into a home theater, especially if
the homeowner or interior designer doesn’t
want speaker components on the front wall.”
Crystal View Sales and Marketing VP David
Wolff says, “Crystal View has always
strived to provide the best home theater
video products. Sound-Art represents the
best possible audio solution to perfectly
complement our plasma products and is guaranteed
to please both the interior design-conscious
homeowner and home theater enthusiast alike.
Now, everybody wins.”
Snell Acoustics Sales and Marketing VP
Bob Graffy added, “We have been looking
into plasma speaker solutions for a while,
and have found the thin, architectural approach
to be lacking. This is the first product
that offers impactful, theater-like performance.
What a beautiful way to make real speakers
disappear!”
Sound-Art
will be prominently displayed at the 2004
CES in the Snell Acoustics booth (number
16421) located in the Las Vegas Convention
Center.
