CRYSTAL VIEW™
DEBUTS TWO NEW PLASMA DISPLAYS
AND A SINGLE LENS DLP FRONT PROJECTOR
September 5, 2003, Indianapolis, IN –
Exactly one year after Crystal View’s
successful market launch, company founders
David Wolff and Gary Guidi continue the
momentum with the introduction of 43- and
50- inch plasma displays and a single-chip
DLP front projector.
The new Crystal View CV-43 HD and CV-50
HD widescreen plasma displays boast 1280
x 768 native resolution and a contrast ratio
of 1,000:1 for unsurpassed image clarity
and depth. Both models are mated with a
Crystal View outboard processor that serves
as a main switching station and allows for
image control adjustments such as aspect
ratio, color temperature, brightness and
resolution scaling.
Both models are custom framed in a choice
of colors and wood grains to compliment
the room in which they will be installed.
Options include a table stand, wall mount
and tuner pack. Standard HD connections
include component and RGB. Suggested retail
prices for the CV-43 HD and CV-50 HD are
$10,995 and $14,995 respectively.
The new Crystal View CV-HD720P DLP projector
incorporates the Texas Instruments™
HD-2 Mustang DLP-chip, creating 1280 x 720
native lines of crisp, clear widescreen
resolution. According to President Gary
Guidi, “The CV-HD720P projector meets
the SMPTE HD specifications for DTV color
accuracy, thus ensuring the best possible
reproduction of high-definition video programming.”
Enhanced projector features include a 2,300:1
contrast ratio; 1.75 - 2.25 zoom lens; DVI,
Component, RGB, S- and Composite- Video
inputs; Infrared RS-232 control and two
separate 12-volt output triggers - perfect
for motorized screen control and separate
dual masking operation. Additionally, a
1:1 wide-angle lens is offered as an option
for installations requiring a short throw
distance. The projector’s specially
designed body provides a whisper quiet noise
threshold of less than 28 db while simultaneously
concealing all mounting hardware and related
wiring. The Crystal View CV-HD720P, with
its outboard scaler/processor, has a suggested
retail price of $14,995.
Crystal View added these new product offerings
in response to dealer requests. David Wolff,
Crystal View Vice President says, "Dealers
repeatedly told us they wanted high-end
flat panel and single lens products that
matched the caliber of the Crystal View
CRT projectors and related support programs.
Our product development team spent the last
year analyzing and tweaking plasma displays
and single lens projectors. We’re
thrilled to be able to deliver products
of unsurpassed quality that at the same
time provide our dealers with lucrative
profit margins. And we continue to target
the higher-end of the home theater marketplace
-- you won't find our products at mail order
or via the Internet."
Crystal View’s product development
team consists of the same veteran technicians
that have been entrenched in the modification,
servicing, and repair of front projectors
and plasma displays for Guidi’s HI-REZ
Service company, which has been in operation
for over 10 years. This technically adept
team has been the driving force in Crystal
View’s pledge fulfillment of providing
detailed onsite calibration for every new
CRT projector sold in the continental US.
Vice President David Wolff furthered, “Our
in-home CRT calibration program has been
a significant factor in successfully setting
us apart from other competing video display
manufacturers. And having such a highly-qualified
team provide this service is truly the icing
on the cake.”
In keeping with this tradition, prior to
shipping, every new Crystal View plasma
and DLP projector sold will be calibrated
at the company’s Ashland, Massachusetts-based
factory. Using the Crystal View outboard
video processor as a reference source, Imaging
Science Foundation-standardized calibration
adjustments will be made in the areas of
contrast, brightness, color balance, gray
scale and black levels.
According to David Wolff, “All of
these adjustments will optimize the video
display for maximum performance and significantly
reduce required installation time for the
dealer.” Additionally as a convenience
for the dealer, a CD-Rom will be included
that provides Crestron macro commands for
automated control programming.
Now shipping, the Crystal View Plasma Displays
and Single Lens DLP projector are backed
by a one-year, in-home warranty.
Crystal View will be displaying at CEDIA
booth number 1304, which is located in the
RCA Dome section of the Indianapolis Convention
Center, September 5 – 7, 2003.
