The
Crystal View CV-NNR2-DVI
is the video equivalent of a high-end,
audiophile preamp/processor. This one
unit will accept Standard, Progressive,
and High-Definition (HD) video signals
in every format, from cable, satellite,
and broadcast receivers, DVD and LaserDisc
players, and VCRs of all kinds.
Once
it selects a video input, the CV-NNR2-DVI
applies several processes to improve
the quality of the video image (think
extreme makeover). These fine image
adjustments can be saved in sets of
up to four memories for every input.
Thus the picture quality can be optimized
irrespective of source material differences.
The enhanced image is then scaled to
a resolution and scan rate that best
matches the characteristics of your
video projector or display so that the
resultant picture on your screen is
the best it can possibly be.
Crystal
View ships a CV-NNR2-DVI that has been
individually scaled and calibrated to
bring out the best in every one of our
video projectors and displays. We can
think of no better recommendation than
that, but many video product reviewers
have.
Not
so long ago, a line-doubler that merely
converted standard, interlaced video
to what is now known as progressive,
was considered to be a high-tech product
and sold for more than the CV-NNR2-DVI.
With the advent of HD video, standard
TV needs a lot more help to appear watchable
on the same screen. The CV-NNR2-DVI
provides all that help and more. It
can even improve the quality of HD video.
Among other things, it can transform
1080i (interlaced) HD into 1080p (progressive)
HD.
Its
10 inputs accept Composite, S-video,
Component, RGB/VGA, DVI with HDCP (required
to view the DVI picture when the copyright
owner requires copy protection verification),
and even professional SDI. It will also
transcode between formats, so there
is no need to ever bypass the CV-NNR2-DVI
or run video through any additional
piece of equipment.
Both
the DVI inputs and DVI output have HDCP
encryption, so the CV-NNR2-DVI can accept
video from a DVI/HDCP source, enhance
it, and sent it back out, re-encrypted,
to a DVI/HDCP equipped display. The
analog video outputs are even brought
out onto professional quality, 75-ohm,
BNC connectors, rather than RCA jacks
to eliminate the even the slightest
edge distortions within the picture
due to impedance discontinuity.
